About

About HVAC Ethos

An independent publication built around one decision: that homeowners deserve HVAC content written to teach, not to sell.

HVAC Ethos publishes plain-English HVAC guidance for Southern California homeowners. We are not a contractor, broker, or licensing authority. We are a small editorial team that thinks the HVAC information environment is broken — and is trying to fix one corner of it.

Editorial approach

Roughly 95% of what we publish is educational. The remaining 5% — a small roster of vetted contractors — only exists once we believe a homeowner reading our guides could safely hand off to one of them. Mentions are earned, not bought, and every relationship is disclosed.

Local focus

Southern California is not a single climate. Coastal corrosion, inland heat load, and older-home airflow are different problems with different right answers. Our SoCal guides exist because the rest of HVAC content online flattens that distinction.

Editorial team

HVAC Ethos is written and reviewed by a small editorial team with backgrounds in residential energy reporting and hands-on HVAC service work across Southern California. Every guide is researched against manufacturer documentation, code and utility sources, and field experience, then reviewed before publication and on a regular schedule afterward.
